Read moreThe National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a Summer 2025 Wildfire Projection, warning of an increased risk of forest fires in May 2025 due to rising temperatures, prolonged dry spells, and strong winds. The projection is based on climate data, satellite imagery, and meteorological trends, highlighting high-risk zones across the country.
A low-pressure weather system presently producing rains in upper parts is likely to move southward bringing strong monsoon currents from Arabian sea to southern parts of the country from 16 August 2024 and this weather system is likely to persist in parts of country till 20 August 2024. Under the influence of this weather system, torrential rains are also expected in Balochistan and Sindh from 16 August to 18 August.
